OLD AMBERGRIS NEWS ITEMS

  DECEMBER 9 2006
The "Snoopy's Christmas" track has now been posted here and on MySpace. You can get the song right here. Happy Holidays and all that shit...

  DECEMBER 1 2006
Does anyone ever read these updates? Not much new to report - the Pork Dukes tour came and went, and as always we had a great time. Hope Bonk's finally feeling better. Kingston and the Court Tavern were also both awesome shows and we had a great time playing both places. Hopefully we'll be returning to both in the near future. In other news, we're slated to play the Sterling on 12/22 with the Murder Junkies for those of you who remember G.G. Allin. We're also at the Arch Street Hotel on 12/29 with a special guest to be named later. If you want details on this show, send us an email. All shows are listed in the shows section.

Also - at our next shows, look for a special limited edition one-song EP we'll be releasing, containing the "Snoopy's Christmas" song. We'll also make this available via download here and on MySpace, but it's always cooler to have the disc, isn't it? This will be a one-off pressing, first come-first serve, when they're gone they're gone, so if you want one, let us know if you see us at a show.

  SEPTEMBER 19 2006
Slight change to the show schedule, we will NOT in fact be playing the Hunter's Lodge on November 4 with 21 Rounds and the Project due to scheduling conflicts. It should still be a great show, though, so go check it out - Dead End Drive has been added to the bill making for three really great bands. In other news, we will be re-releasing the Here In The Valley CD, along with a bunch of bonus tracks from our visit to WFMU back in January, so look for that online here and at shows. It will be available within the next couple of weeks. We're also hard at work on new songs and t-shirts and should have some sort of announcement on both of those very soon. That's it for now - hope to see all of you at the ALL AGES show in Kingston on the 7th, and again in Dirty Jersey on the 21st. Later.

  AUGUST 31 2006
It's been almost 3 months since an update, and to be honest, it's been almost 3 months since we've played out. At least it sure feels that way. Anyway, summer vacation is finally over, the kids are back in school (sorry, kids), and the newest member of the Ambergris family arrived on August 23 - congrats to Swill and his new son Ryan William. Now it's time to get back to business. We got 3 shows confirmed in the next couple of months and are working on some others as well. Check the dates page for more info. We'll be up in the Wilkes Barre area on October 7 with 21 Rounds and Maddog Surrender. This one's an ALL AGES show, so tell your mom you'll be out that night. On October 21 we head down to New Brunswick NJ for a show with the Wretched Ones and Niblick Henbane. And on November 4 we'll be in Delaware NJ checking out a new place called the Hunter's Lodge Motel with 21 Rounds and the Project. All should be a good time. Also, we're hard at work (ok, hardly at work) on new songs, and should have enough to do some sort of new offering hopefully by the end of the year. I'll keep you posted. And look for new shirts at the October shows - new designs are on the way, so we'll have tons and tons of goodies to keep you all busy. Peace out. -G

  JUNE 6 2006 (666)
God I hate posting these news updates, but I felt I needed to do one for the special date. A bunch of shows came and went, and we had a great time. We played the East Coast OiFest back in April - thanks to Craig for getting us on the bill. We also did Tutfest which was a blast as always, and CattyFest, which was a decent set, even if there wasn't a very big turnout. Finally, we played the Sterling again with The Harletts, who were awesome. The Valley of the Punks cd is out now too - you can order it here. We're playing Harrisburg this weekend, then taking some time off to work on new material. We'll be writing a bunch of new shit which has been sort of just bottling up over the past few months. Hopefully we can get something recorded and a new release out by the end of the year. That's it for now.

  MARCH 31 2006
The Niblick Henbane and Born To Lose shows came and went and we had a great time as always. Both bands are great live and really cool guys to just hang out with and shoot the shit. Hopefully we'll get more shows together in the future. Anyway - we got some new shit coming down the pipe. Tutfest is coming up on Saturday May 6. This is a private party, but if you're interested in attending, get in touch with us and we may be able to hook you up. After that is CattyFest - scheduled for Saturday May 20. I'm awaiting details on time, location, etc. but as I get them I will post them. Then on Saturday May 27 we're back at the Sterling after a 9 month hiatus with Far From Finished, which includes ex-members of Street Dogs, and The Project and The Sloppy Joes (tenatively). Big time thanks go to Ron Fathead from the Project for setting this up and getting us on the bill. After that we have Saturday June 10 at the ChampionShip out in Lemoyne PA. You're asking yourself - where the fuck is Lemoyne? It's right outside Harrisburg - we'll be playing with Common Enemy, The Twats and the Poison Donuts. This one's all ages so you kiddies should all ask mom and dad to drive you out to the show so you can check us out.

In other news, we'll be appearing on a new compilation CD featuring Lehigh Valley bands which is being put together by Paul Blud of Dead End Drive. We got together last night and recorded a few of our new tracks so keep an eye out for this - hopefully there will be brand spankin new material for you Gris fans shortly. This should be available by summer time.

That's it for now - hope to see you at the shows!

A little post-show St. Patty's Day fun at the Brighton Bar

  FEBRUARY 10 2006
Just a note - the Niblick Henbane show at the Arch Street Hotel has moved to Friday March 10 due to a scheduling conflict. Hopefully everyone can still make it out for that. Info on the show can be found here. We're also confirmed for March 16 at the Brighton Bar again in Long Branch, NJ with Texas punks Born To Lose. We played with them last year at Kate's, and we're looking forward to this show again too. It should be a great show, so come on down - if you want to follow us down or roadie for us or something, let us know.

The WMFU radio broadcast went pretty well - you can catch the webcast of it here from the archive page for Pat Duncan's show.

  JANUARY 25 2006
Ok, a few announcements first. We are confirmed for Friday February 24 at the Arch Street Hotel with New Jersey OI! kings Niblick Henbane, and fellow Lehigh Valley partners in crime Maddog Surrender. Details, as always, can be found here. Also - we're going to be playing live on legendary independent radio station WFMU out of Jersey City on Pat Duncan's show tomorrow night - Thursday January 26. You can catch his show and us live on 91.9 if you're close enough to New York City, and if not, you can catch it live on the web at www.wfmu.org. Radio webcasts are archived for a while up there so even if you miss this at first, you can download it and listen later.

Our January shows came and went - we had a blast at both of them. Many thanks to Paul from Dead End Drive for hooking us up down at Pourman's - it was a late night, but we had fun nonetheless. Hopefully we'll be back down that way again soon. And the Electric Frankenstein show was a big success too. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported so that we didn't lose our ass putting that one together!

We have a few other things in the works - TutFest and CattyFest are coming up - dates have been tentatively announced, but nothing finalized yet. Word has it the Lo-Fi's might be making a special return appearance at TutFest this year, but this is speculation at this point. We should have new merch soon - new t-shirts, stickers, and buttons are in the works as you read this. Also - we're trying to set something up at the Brighton Bar in NJ again for Thursday March 16 with Born to Lose from TX, who we played with last year. Stay tuned for more details!

  DECEMBER 22 2005
Ho ho ho. Happy fucking holidays to you and yours from Ambergris. That's right - Happy Holidays. Now go ahead and protest our site like those morons outside Walmart. Anyway - some minor news - Dead End Drive is the confirmed other band for Electric Frankenstein on January 21. Also - we are now booked to play CattyFest 2006 on May 20. I don't have anymore details on this but will post them here as we get them.

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY AND WE'LL SEE YOU IN 2006!!!

  DECEMBER 8 2005
Hey, will you look at that. I actually did a timely update to this page! 2 days later. Anyway... we're now confirmed for January 7th at Pourman's Pub down in Manville, NJ. Check their website out at www.pourmanspub.com. A bunch of other local bands have been playing down there and from what I understand the shows always get good and rowdy, some come on down and drink with us. If you're interested in tagging along, get in contact with us. Locals Dead End Drive (thanks for the hookup, Paul) and 21 Rounds are also playing, and Common Voice might make an appearance as well. Should be a fun night, so get your ass to this show!

Also - we've confirmed headliner Electric Frankenstein (http://www.electricfrankenstein.com) for the Arch Street on January 21. One other local opener will be added, but we haven't finalized this yet. Keep checking back.

One other bit of news - apparently we won "Best Punk CD" from the Lehigh Valley Music Awards this past Monday. Thanks go out to everyone who voted for us!!!

  DECEMBER 6 2005
Not too much new to report - the Brighton Bar show went pretty good, we're hoping to get back down there again real soon, so anyone who came out to see us at that show - sit tight. We'll be back. The 2005 Pork Dukes Lehigh Valley tour came and went also and as always we had a blast playing with the Dukes. Don't forget that the Wretched Ones show is this Friday at the Arch Street Hotel, and we just confirmed January 21, 2006 at the Arch Street - who we're playing with yet, we don't know. We're trying to get a decent out-of-the area headliner in, so stay tuned for more info. Also, we might be playing the Pourman's Pub in Manville, NJ on Saturday January 7 with Dead End Drive - again, this is tentative so check back here regularly. I'll post the shit as fast as it comes down the pipe.

  OCTOBER 14 2005
OK, we're playing at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch NJ next Thursday night October 20. Details are here. I realize it's last-minute notice, but if any of you locals are bored and don't have to work on Friday, come on down. Or any fans from that area of Jersey - here's your chance to see us live.

Oh and in other news, Ambergris-related vandalism is now an international problem...

  SEPTEMBER 28 2005
Just got confirmation on three shows for later this year. Lehigh Valley favorites the PORK DUKES return for the fourth year in a row over Thanksgiving - we're slated to play both shows with them - Friday November 25 at the Arch Street Hotel in Catasauqua, and Saturday November 26 at the Jacksonian Club in Nazareth. Also, Art has secured the Wretched Ones for a return engagement at the Arch Street Hotel on Saturday December 9. I don't have any other info about who else is playing, times, cost, etc. yet, but as this info becomes available it will definitely be posted here.

In other news, Road to Ruin is planning on doing a press release for all their stores, a writeup in the next catalog and an official release date for the "A Day Late And A Dollar Short" disc. More info here as we find out...

  SEPTEMBER 21 2005
OK, I know it's been forever since we've had an update (almost 2 months to be precise), but I've been extremely busy with a new job and all the other usual bullshit that goes along with daily life. Anyway, the Peter & The Test Tube Babies show came and went - we had a blast. I hope to get some pictures up for that shortly. Check back here soon. In other news, there is no other news. We're looking to set some shows up soon, probably at the Arch Street Hotel now that the fall/winter season has gotten underway again there. Again, check back here for more updates.

In other news, we're currently the top item on the news page of AMP Records with the release of our new disc. If you don't feel like clicking, I have the page reproduced here (click for full-size version):

  JULY 29 2005
Pictures from the Dickies show are now up - big thanks to Johnny Arson for coming up to the show and taking these shots. Check 'em out right here.

In other news, the AMP records pressing of "A Day Late And A Dollar Short" is now underway, and we have tickets for the Peter And The Test Tube Babies show, so if you need tickets, get in touch with us.

  JULY 18 2005
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Dickies show on Saturday. What a great time and a great show that was. The energy from the crowd and other bands was amazing. I'll have pictures up soon hopefully.

In other news, it looks like we're going to be opening for Peter and the Test Tube Babies on Thursday August 25 at the Sterling. Not sure of the other bands yet, but I heard 21 Rounds mentioned, which of course is awesome as those guys really know how to tear it up as well. Stay tuned for more breaking news as we get it.

  JULY 14 2005

  JULY 7 2005
Just a quick update - Ambergris was indeed featured in today's "Get Into The Act" review column in the Morning Call. Thanks to Rich Gensiak for doing this for us. You can check out the article here: Get Into The Act: Ambergris. You can also preview a 3rd new track "No Way Out" right here, as it is also available on the Morning Call Go Guide web site.

  JUNE 23 2005
WHEW! So we just got done recording and mixing the new CD. We recorded the weekend of June 9-12, over about 20 grueling hours, with countless gallons of beer, blackberry brandy, rum, etc. and unhealthy amounts of pizza and Taco Bell consumed during. Then we went and mixed the damn thing last Thursday. It was a lot of work, but I think everyone is extremely pleased with the end result. We have the preliminary master copy and everything sounds great. If you want to preview two tracks, go to the downloads page and you can download "I Think There's Something Wrong With You" and "No Clue". As for more details on the release, here goes: The disc will contain 12 brand new never-before released Ambergris tracks. The title of the disc is "A Day Late And A Dollar Short". We're still working on arrangements to get the fucking thing pressed, but we're planning on doing a CD release party at the Dickies show on July 16. This will be your first chance to hear a whole bunch of new material, about half of which has never even been played live.

In other news, Will informed me last night that we're slated for the July 7th "Get Into The Act" review column in the Morning Call's Go Guide. For all you non-locals, that's the weekly entertainment section of the local paper - they run a short column each week on a local artist or group. This is of course very cool. Thanks go out to Rich Gensiak for hooking us up here.

That's it for now - stay tuned in the next few weeks for more information as I get it.

  MAY 20 2005
Ok, so you all are wondering "what the hell happened to Ambergris?". Two months without a single update. Well, we've been busy so get off our ass! Tutfest '05 came and went, and we had a great time as always. G managed to stay coherent enough to play this year, so overall it was easily our best 'fest set to date.

We're hard at work on the new CD. We record in three weeks, and it will officially be released a few weeks after that. Right now it's looking like 12 brand new tracks, a few of which we've been playing live for a while, but a good deal of them never having been heard outside of Will's basement. We're all excited and you should be too.

The other little bit of news is that we landed ourselves on the Dickies show July 16 at the Sterling. More details can be found here. We have tickets if you're interested. Contact us at ambergrislvhc@yahoo.com if you'd like to purchase one. We're hoping to turn this into the CD release show for us, so come on out, see a bunch of great bands, have fun and grab your very own copy of the new disc.

That's it for now - stay tuned as always for more updates and late breaking news.

  MARCH 28 2005
Well it's been a month since the last update - the show at Kate's came and went and even though it was a Monday night, it was still fun. The guys from Born to Lose were great to hang out with and we had Krust and Adam come out to represent and join in on the fun - thanks guys! Not much else to report lately - we're still working on writing more songs for the upcoming cd. We'll be doing some promo pictures in the next few weeks too, so check back here for those. The April 30 show with Tommy Gutless, Maddog Surrender and the Ruckus has been scratched from our slate, due to the birth of Art's new baby and Will being out of town. If you're not busy, stop out to see that show anyway - it should be a good time. Tutfest is still on for April 23 - that will be a blast again as usual.

That's it for now - sit tight for a few months - we'll be back in full swing this summer with a new disc and more fury and energy than ever before.

  FEBRUARY 28 2005
Fuck, work sucks sometimes. I've been completely busy with my shitass job, I haven't really had time for updates to this site. The Wretched Ones show came and went and was fucking awesome. Word is they want to come back over the summer so keep tuned here for more info. The other bands were great that night too - I'll have pictures posted here one of these days. In other news, the CD recording is now on hold till probably early June or so, as we've been swamped getting booked for shows, which is after all a good thing, right? Up next is an all-ager at Kate's Kafe on Monday March 7 with Texas punks Born To Lose, our buddies from NJ Dead End Saints and The Ruckus, who I'm told put on a show not to be missed. We're also booked for Tutfest 2005 which will happen on Saturday April 23, and another show at the Arch Street on Saturday April 30 with Tommy Gutless from Pittsburgh PA, Maddog Surrender and The Ruckus. That's it for now - stay tuned as shit keeps changing with Ambergris weekly. Who knows where we'll turn up next...

  JANUARY 22 2005
Pictures are now up from Blinky's show at St. Bernard's last weekend - you can see them here. We had a great time - thanks to all the other bands and especially to Blinky for putting this show together and having such a great turnout. Ambergris is going to be playing a private gig at the Jacksonian Club in Nazareth again next weekend January 29, but it's closed to the public. The only other show scheduled after that is the Wretched Ones show in February, then we'll be taking a break from gigging for a month or two to write some new material and record the next CD. Stay tuned here for info and updates.

  JANUARY 10 2005
Not much to report - the Arch Street gig this past weekend with 21 Rounds and The Fux went pretty well. Not a ton of people came out, but thanks to all who did. It was nice to see some familiar faces there once again. Be sure to get out to the benefit show next weekend at St. Bernard's (details here) - it'll be your last chance to catch Ambergris for another month, and it's for a great cause, plus 6 other bands are playing. See you all then!

  JANUARY 2 2005
Happy New Years everyone. Just a quick note - we now have the entire "Here In The Valley" EP posted in the downloads section. Click here to download your copy today!

  DECEMBER 30 2004
Alright, so the year 2004 winds down to a close. First off - Happy Holidays to all you fuckers out there. Thanks for coming out to all our shows this past year, and helping make 2004 tons of fun.

Pics are up from the Happy Tap show on Dec. 18 here. Thanks to 21 Rounds and the SlamhoundS for making this a memorable show for all. Also thanks go out to Jim Bellizzi and everyone we played with at the Globe benefit show on December 28. I unfortunately have no pictures from that show, but a good time was had by all - kudos to Capgun Showdown, AmRevII, Let's Kill Omaha, Defiant Trespass, and Better Than Nothing for doing great sets.

In other news, we've got a bunch more shows coming up in the next few weeks. Check us out at the Arch Street on January 7 with the FUX and 21 Rounds again. Also, make sure to come out for Blinky's annual benefit show at St. Bernard's on Saturday January 15. We'll be playing along with Defiant Trespass, The Clap, Slamhounds, Lo-Fi's, Stools and Wilson's Wackos. That should be another killer show and it's for a good cause, so get your lazy ass out of the house for it. Also, don't forget Wretched Ones with us and Maddog Surrender on Saturday February 12. Word has it that an all-ages show is in the works for the end of February too, but nothing is confirmed yet. Details on all these shows can be found here.

Take care and have a safe and happy New Year. We'll see all you troublemakers in 2005!!!

  DECEMBER 9 2004
Ok, tons of shit going on in the Ambergris camp these days. First off, we're confirmed for the Arch Street Hotel on both January 7 and February 12 of next year. The other bands are still up in the air for the January show, but the Feburary 12 show will be with NJ's Wretched Ones and local OI favorites Maddog Surrender. Make sure you don't miss either of these shows as everyone is hoping for a return to glory of the Arch Street Hotel. Let's all do what we can to make this into a great place to have shows at. Also - some other shit is in the works too for January, but nothing definite yet. As soon as we get confirmation, you'll read about it here.

In other news, we'll be recording a brand new full-length CD in January some time, with a target release date of February. We're hoping to do a CD release party at the Wretched Ones show, but we'll see how things go. Be sure to look out for that early next year.

  NOVEMBER 22 2004
Pork Dukes shows were amazing this past weekend. We played good sets both days, got a lot of good comments from people, drank a lot of beer, and had a great time supporing the tour as always. All the bands sounded great both nights. Many thanks to Carl, Jeff, Johnny, Julie, Nancy, and everyone else who helped make this happen. We love being able to be a part of it every year. I should have pictures up from the show later today or tomorrow.

  NOVEMBER 18 2004
I updated the shows page - we're confirmed at the Happy Tap on Saturday December 18. Looks like we'll be playing with the Slamhounds and 21 Rounds. That's right - Rounds and Hounds. Don't forget to come out to the Pork Dukes shows this weekend too. As usual, show information can be found here.

  NOVEMBER 8 2004
Ok, so it's been forever since I did an update, but that's because it's been forever since anything has been going on. But now I got some shit to report so here goes: Ambergris is once again slated to open some Pork Dukes shows this year. We'll be playing a private party at the Jacksonian Club on Saturday November 20 (closed to the public), and then an all-age matinee show on Sunday November 21 at Jeff's house in Catty, where they played last year. The Clap will be playing both shows, and there are a bunch of bands slated for the all-age show including The Complaints who will be playing for the first time since CattyFest last year. Come on out to that one if you can, it should be a good time. I'm also awaiting confirmation on a December 18 show at the Happy Tap, and it looks like we're booked on December 28 at The Globe for an all-ages show with Settle, AmRevII and some other bands who are still awaiting confirmation. Plus, we're trying to get a show with NJ's Wretched Ones for early next year too. Nothing is confirmed on that yet, though, so keep checking back here. Details on all these shows can be found here.

We're also planning on hitting the studio sometime in January or February, to record a full-length CD, as we now have about 8 or 9 new songs that have not yet been recorded, so look for that in the coming months.

  SEPTEMBER 29 2004
The Connections show was last week - it went really good. Even though we didn't seem to get a whole lot of people interested in buying stuff or signing up for the mailing list, they seemed to like us and we put on a good show. Pictures are up here. Check 'em out.

In other news, WE NEED SHOWS, MOTHERFUCKERS!!! If you have anything lined up and would like us to play, please by all means get in touch with any of us. You can reach us via the official email address too at ambergrislvhc@yahoo.com.

  AUGUST 31 2004
I got pictures posted from the Sterling show last weekend. Many thanks to Danielle for taking these pics and letting us use them on the site. Check them out here.

  AUGUST 30 2004
The Sterling show was great - all three bands sounded great. Don't know if the Mindbenderz sounded good or not, as no one really stuck around that long. Anyway - our t-shirts are now in. They're two-sided, white on black featuring the new logo, and selling for $10. You can order one here.

I'm still looking to get an October show at the Happy Tap again, so stay tuned for more info on that. Don't forget to come check us out at Connections on 9/22 if you can make it. Details for that show are here.

  AUGUST 5 2004
We're now booked for August 27 at the Sterling with the Slamhounds, Common Voice, and the Mindbenders, whoever the hell they are. We got some other shit in the works too, so check back, because September and October are looking like they're going to be full months for us. Show details are all here.

  JULY 20 2004
Once again the site takes on a slightly different look. I have photos posted from the Kate's Kafe show on July 10 here. We're also booked for a show on September 22 at Connections in Passaic NJ, for their weekly Wednesday night Punknite, hosted by Adi from the NY Rel-X. We'll be playing with southside's Common Voice, and NJ's Dead End Saints again - if you can make it out that night, come check it out - it should be a great show. Info on that show is posted on the shows page.

  JULY 12 2004
A million thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Kate's Kafe on Saturday night. What a great show that was - special thanks to Your Lies Fail, Nine Lives, and Flat Earth Society too for putting on great performances. We're working on getting some other stuff booked, so we should have something to announce here soon. We'll also FINALLY be getting our t-shirts made, so all those who wanted one at the show, hang tight for a few more weeks - we'll have shirts soon enough.

  JUNE 18 2004
Information for the July 10 show is now posted here. Make sure you check it out. It's an all-age too, so you kiddies can all come out and witness the mighty power of Ambergris. Some other stuff is in the works too, but this is the only show we currently have booked.

  MAY 27 2004
Ambergris is currently shopping for a second guitarist. If you'd like to give it a shot, drop us a line at ambergrislvhc@yahoo.com. Also - we're slotted to play on July 10 at Kate's Kafe in Phillipsburg NJ with Nine Lives and Dead End Saints. As soon as we have more details, they'll be posted here.

  MAY 5 2004
Shows are dropping like flies - 999 is out for us too - they'll be playing at the Sterling on May 13 with the Fux and Mad Parade. Oh well, it gives us a night off anyway. Work on the new Ambergris t-shirts should commence shortly.

  MAY 3 2004
Looks like the Crocodile Rock show on May 19 is cancelled now. That leaves Tutfest this coming weekend as our only other currently-booked show. The show at the Happy Tap last weekend with Common Voice and Dead End Saints went very well, as did the benefit show the previous weekend. We're trying to get some more stuff booked soon, so check back here periodically. We are probably also going to finally get some new t-shirts made up too. More info to come.

  APRIL 22 2004
Alright, I've started playing around with the look of the site a bit. Expect some more changes in the coming weeks. Just getting tired of the same old thing, that's all. Gotta keep it fresh, ya know'm sayin? Don't forget about all the upcoming shows in the next couple of weeks. Click here for details.

  APRIL 15 2004
Ok, we have a bunch of shows coming up. We're still playing the Turning Point benefit on Saturday April 24. We'll probably be going on some time between 4:30 and 6:30 so make sure you get there early. We're playing the Happy Tap on Saturday May 1 with Common Voice and Dead End Saints. Tutfest 2004 is on Saturday May 8, we'll probably be going on around 10:00, and finally we're booked for Crocodile Rock in Allentown on Wednesday May 19 with a bunch of other local punk bands. Info on all the shows is here.

  MARCH 2 2004
Tutfest 2004 is confirmed for Saturday May 8, 2004. Don't yet know what time we'll be going on, but it should be a good time again this year. Hopefully I'll be able to stay sober enough to play this year. Not too much else new is going on - we're supposedly opening for 999 this year, but haven't gotten specifics on that show yet. We're working on new songs and should have a few new tunes, new t-shirts, and new buttons in time for the upcoming April and May shows. See you then!

  JANUARY 19 2004
Ambergris was just added to two more shows in the coming month. We'll be playing at Bubba's Inn in Coplay on Saturday February 14 (bring your sweetie along cuz it's Valentine's Day - don't worry, we won't tell your wife!) with the Clap, and at the Happy Tap again on Saturday February 21 with the Clap. We're also slated to play a benefit show on Saturday April 24th at the Trexlertown Fire Co. for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley, which is a shelter for battered women and children. It's a good cause, so come on out for that one too. I'll post more info on all these shows here as I get it.

  JANUARY 15 2004
Happy New Year everyone! Just a quick note - Ambergris will be playing the Happy Tap on Saturday January 24, 2004 with our buddies the Lo-Fi's. Show starts at 10:00 and it's a $3 cover charge - should be a fun time, so come out and see us if you're not busy.

  DECEMBER 10 2003
Ambergris released its third demo CD on November 26 for the Pork Dukes show at the Happy Tap. Titled "Here In The Valley", it features 9 tracks, 6 of them new, recorded by Dean Sanginari. The CD has a much tighter and better sound than the two demos we put out last year. Thanks a bunch, Dean. You can order copies of the CD for $3 here. If you'd like to check out a couple tracks, we posted MP3's on the dowloads page.

The Pork Dukes gigs came and went, and we had a great time playing them. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us, whether intentionally or not. Special thanks go to John Loftus and The Clap for getting us the shows, and of course the Pork Dukes themselves. Hopefully we'll get some more shows lined up fairly soon. The entire band is itching to play out more.

That's it for this update. Here's wishing a safe and happy holiday season to everyone. See you in 2004.

  NOVEMBER 20 2003
Ambergris has just been added to another Pork Dukes show - this is turning into a mini-tour for us. The Gris will be playing on Wednesday Nov. 26 at the Happy Tap with the Pork Dukes and the Clap. Make sure you get there early - the tickets are being sold at the door ONLY on a first cum, first serve basis. It should be fun. We're at the Jed the following night as mentioned before. Get the lowdown on both shows here. Hopefully our new CD will be ready for sale at both shows.

  OCTOBER 27 2003
Wow - it's been a while since there was any kind of update from the Ambergris camp. A couple of items worth mentioning here - Ambergris is once again slated to open up for the Pork Dukes on Thanksgiving night. This is seemingly becoming some sort of annual tradition. Local favorites The Clap and the Lo-Fi's will also be playing. You can get more info on the show by clicking here.

Ambergris is also planning on recording a few tracks for a new CD which we hope to have out in time for the show. Check back here for more info on that later.

In other news, Ambergris has become a foursome. Puppet has decided to take an extended, most likely permanent, leave of absence from Ambergris. We wish him the best of luck with whatever it is that he does to occupy his time. G will be assuming all of the guitar duties going forward.

Check out the pics from after the UK Subs show at the Jednota last weekend. We got some pretty cool shots of the Gris with Charlie Harper.

Other than that, not much else is going on. We pretty much have dropped out of sight for the past couple of months to relax and refocus. Now that winter is coming around again, we're hoping to score lots more shows and work on some new material. Make sure you check back here every now and then to see what's new. Hopefully we'll have more frequent updates as the winter progresses.

  JUNE 10 2003
We have new buttons and the t-shirts are available for sale via the web site now. Check out the online order form here. Also, I finally got the few pictures we had from the Pork Dukes show in November up. Check them out here. And don't forget about the show at the Sober Club next Friday, June 20. See you all there!

  JUNE 5 2003
Pictures are now up from the Sober Club show. Check them out here.

  MAY 29 2003
The lineup for the Sober Club show has ONCE AGAIN changed. I swear, this show bill gets changed more often than Puppet's underwear. Swamp Kids will not be playing, due to the fact that they don't have a drummer. Fo A Cha will be taking their place. Hopefully the lineup won't change again, but keep tuned in for up-to-the-minute breaking news.

  MAY 13 2003
The Lo-Fi's have been added to the May 31st Sober Club show. The lineup is also set for the show at the Sober Club on Friday June 20 - The Change, Iron Youth, Ambergris and Defiant Trespass. Check the shows page for all the info.

  MAY 7 2003
Photos are now up from Tutfest on the photos page. Also, Silicone Valley Productions is planning another show at the Sober Club on Friday June 20. Check back here for more information in the coming weeks.

  MAY 1 2003
The show at the Sober Club has been moved from Friday May 30 to Saturday May 31. Iron Youth could not make that show, so we will be adding another band shortly. Check the shows page for the latest info. All other info (price, time, etc.) is still the same.

  APRIL 21 2003
Just got confirmation on an all-age show Ambergris is doing at the Sober Club in Easton on Friday May 30 featuring Nine Lives, Swamp Kids and Iron Youth. Check the shows page for more info.

  APRIL 15 2003
Ambergris is going to be playing Tutfest 2003 on Saturday April 26. We were added to the bill late, and in return, will go on late (midnight). Sounds like it should be a fun time. Check out the official Tutfest site for more information: Tutfest 2003. Other local bands slated to play include the Clap, the Complaints/Stiff.com, and the Lo-Fi's.

  APRIL 9 2003
THIS JUST IN - Ambergris will be playing Catty Fest, the 150th anniversary celebration of Catasauqua, on Sunday July 6, 2003. Look for more info here in the coming weeks.

  MARCH 25 2003
Well, the Lehigh Valley Punk Rock Rally CD release show came and went. We all thought it was a pretty good show. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and the other bands. Also thanks go out to the Creatures of the Golden Dawn, Square One, Elora Danon and Imidazole for putting on a great show and supporting us. The CD is good - if you don't have a copy you can pick one up at Double Decker records, or get one from us for $5. See the order form for more information.

There isn't too much else new. Will did sound for a show with Nick from Cold Like December at the Sober Club in Easton on March 14. Apparently it went pretty good. He's going to be doing sound for the 999 show at the Jednota Club on April 8. Hopefully we'll be able to get a few shows set up in the near future. If you're interested in playing, make sure you contact us.

  FEBRUARY 19 2003
It's been a while since I updated the site, I know, but not too much has been going on in the outside world of Ambergris. The Lehigh Valley compilation CD's are out and available at Double Decker records for a couple of bucks. We contributed "I'm Bored" to the CD, so make sure you pick one up. Also, the Pirate's Cove will be hosting a release party for the CD on Saturday March 15. You can get more details on the show here. You'll be able to buy the CD at that show.

Other than that, we've been working on a couple of new songs that we hope to debut at the next show, and we've also been busy assembling and fine-tuning our PA system, which will hopefully allow us to start hosting some shows. Look for more information on this in the near future. If you are a band or in a band and are interested in playing with us, e-mail us at ambergrislvhc@aol.com.

  DECEMBER 20 2002
Just posting some news about the next show. Ambergris will be playing the Happy Tap bar in Bethlehem on Saturday January 25, 2003 with Maddog Surrender and the Crazy Heretics. Get more info here. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in 2002 and help make it a great year. Have a safe and happy holiday, everyone, and look for us more regularly in 2003.

  DECEMBER 2 2002
Well, the Pork Dukes gig came and sadly went. What a night! The gris was well received by the people that bothered to show up early - definitely our best gig to date yet. A live version of our new song "What You Believe" is available for download on the MP3 page here. And of course the PD's brought the house down. A rowdy good time was had by all who attended. I should have photos of the Ambergris set soon, and there are photos on the Pork Dukes web site as well.

Now it's time to pick up the pieces and move forward. We'll be working on some new songs in the coming weeks. In addition, I just got word today that the Lehigh Valley compilation CD should be out by Christmas. We contributed the song "I'm Bored" to the comp. I'll post more info when it becomes available.

In other news, we released the "That Not So Fresh Feeling" EP on November 28 at the Pork Dukes show. This EP contains five new Ambergris tracks and is selling for $2. We should have the order page up soon, so you'll be able to order any of this stuff online.

There's currently no Ambergris shows lined up, but Naughtius Maximus has confirmed that the Happy Tap in Bethlehem will start hosting regular Saturday shows beginning in January. We should be able to score one of those. Bubba's Tavern in Coplay is also doing once-a-month or so punk shows, so with any luck we'll have something to report in the coming weeks.

The UK Subs show went very well last night. A good time was had by all. All the bands sounded great and Charlie proved he can still rock. Special thanks to Strain and Naughtius Maximus for letting us on the bill. I'll post pictures as soon as I get my camera back.

Ambergris will play the tribute show on Friday July 26 along with other local bands The Clap, Maddog Surrender, Soma Solution, El Destructo, and Impact. Check the show dates page for more details. The Gris will play a half hour set featuring the two songs from the tribute CD released last fall.

In other news, Ambergris is busy working on new songs and should have t-shirts, stickers, and buttons for sale soon too. The online order form is being created as you read this, so soon you'll be able to order all the Ambergris merchandise you want.

Ambergris is getting ready to record their first new music in 8 years. The new songs are harder-edged both musically and lyrically than their previous songs. Look for a possible download on this website in the next month or so and catch us live the Allentown, PA, area this summer. I’ll post any live dates when I get them.

  NOVEMBER 6, 2000
Sorry, but due to technical difficulties beyond our control (AOL destroyed our old page at the request of the R.I.A.A. – but we’ll discuss that later), our site is temporarily down. We are working hard to get it back up again. If you came here to get free downloads of our songs, send me an E-mail and I will personally forward you MP3 files of our songs (LEGALLY, you RIAA bastards!!!!).
